Visiting a lavender distillery in Drôme: the complete experience
The Distillerie des 4 Vallées is a family-run farm and distillery located at the foot of the Vercors mountains. On approximately 30 hectares, we cultivate lavender and lavandin, and distill on-site using steam distillation. You'll discover antique stills, modern equipment, and the traditional techniques of the trade: harvesting, drying, distillation, and separating essential oil from floral water.

Guided tour
A 1-hour guided tour of the Distillerie des 4 Vallées (Drôme, at the foot of the Vercors mountains): history, varieties (fine lavender, lavandin, spike lavender), distillation techniques, an olfactory workshop, and usage tips. An experience accessible to all, ideal for families or groups.
Distillation workshop
A 2-hour hands-on workshop at the foot of the Vercors mountains: harvesting with a sickle, discovering a traditional still in operation, visiting the old stills, an olfactory workshop (lavender vs. lavandin) + tasting homemade syrup. Each participant leaves with a bottle of essential oil.
Aromatherapy workshop
3-hour aromatherapy workshop in a small group at the Distillerie des 4 Vallées: An "aroma"-focused visit, an olfactory workshop featuring essential local oils, guidelines for safe family use, followed by the creation of a preparation of your choice (roll-on, inhaler stick, lotion, soothing blend). Each participant leaves with their creation.
Lavender hike
Guided family hike of 3 hours departing from the Distillerie des 4 Vallées: fragrant paths between fields of lavender, lavandin and forests, discovery of the history of the Vercors and Chamaloc, observation of biodiversity (including the site of reintroduction of vultures), then return to the distillery with tasting of lavender syrup and explanations on the still.
